Circulation
All users with a valid Library Borrower's Card are entitled to charge out materials from the Library. Please check your borrowing privileges and other information regarding circulation services.
Reference
Library staff on duty at the counter will answer general questions about the use of the Library. Enquiries may also be made by phone (3917 2218), fax (2549 9653) or email at muslib@lib.hku.hk
Discussion Rooms

PC & Mac Station
PC 1 has a scanner and Adobe Photoshop software installed.
PC 2/3 & iMac 4/5/6 have Sibelius music notation software installed. A midi keyboard is attached to these stations. Headphones attached to the computers must be used. Booking Policy
Listening & Viewing
Multimedia Station includes DVD, Blu-ray, CD, cassette players and TV monitors. A turntable and MD player are available upon request. Headphones attached to the Station must be used. No booking is required. All library users.
Study Tables
Individual study tables are set up along glass windows with table top power sockets. Booking Policy
Laptop Loaning Service
Photocopying and Printing
Self-service colour printer and photocopier are available in the Library and are operated with Octopus cards or Copykey cards. Octopus Card add-value service and Copykey card lending service are available at the Information Counter.
A PC for Express printing and online booking is located in the Photocopier Corner.
Wireless Environment
The Library has wireless hotspots that cover all seating area. Users can connect to the Web with their notebook computers.

User Education
Library orientation programmes are organised for new students. Other library courses are also scheduled for undergraduate and postgraduate students on request.
Book Drop
The book drop is located outside the entrance of the Music Library for return of books ONLY.
The following materials must be returned in person to the service counter from where they were first checked out:
- scores and multimedia materials from the Music Library
- items from Special Collections and AV & Reserve Collection
- multimedia materials and items with loan periods of 14 days or less
- items from Interlibrary Loans, UGC Libraries and HKALL items
For materials cleared every day at opening time, return date will be adjusted to the previous working day. The Library will not be responsible for damages or loss of materials in the book drop. Overdue books are also subject to fines.
