BOOK PRESENTATION
CEREMONY
A joint presentation of books, albums and videos by the Consulate
General of the Republic of Poland in Hong Kong to the University
of Hong Kong Libraries and the University Museum and Art Gallery
took place on 24 May 2001. About 17 books on Polish literature
and history by well-known Polish authors were donated to HKU
Libraries. Some of them were Nobel Prize winners. Among the
donations were the facsimile edition of the Constitution of
the Republic of Poland (1791), and a feature film Pan Tadeusz
produced last year by Poland's Oscar winning director Andrzej
Wajda. The presentation ceremony was well attended by the University
faculty and staff from Poland and other guests including the
Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. J. Spinks, Dr. M.R. Martin (Dean
of Faculty of Arts), and Mr. C.T. Yeung (Director of the University
Museum and Art Gallery).
