The collection contains general medical and health sciences materials, including the latest major dental books and reference materials.
These include both Western-language and Chinese journals. Western-language journals are arranged alphabetically by titles. Chinese journals are arranged in a classified sequence. Holding information of all journals can be found on the OPAC. Bound journals are located on the 5/F of the library.
The library has acquired a wide range of e-books, e-journals, bibliographic and full-text databases, covering general medicine and health sciences. The Faculty Publication Database which consists of research output of the Dental Faculty on the Dental Library Homepage. Users can access Medline and other e-resources either through the campus network, or on dedicated PCs in the Dental Library.
This area contains general reference materials, bibliographies, dictionaries, indexes, guidebooks, encyclopaedias and directories, etc. Major dental references such as American Dental Directory, Dental Drug Reference, The Medical Register, etc. can be found in this area.
This is an open shelf collection that mainly contains textbooks of high demand. Teaching staff may request online for materials in the library to be placed in the Dental Library Reserve Collection. [Online Dental Library RBR Request Form]
Print copies of Dental Faculty examination papers can be found on the open shelves. They may also be downloaded from EXAMBASE through the campus network
The library stocks a variety of audio-visual materials such as slides, videos, films and sound recordings, etc. They are available for loan or for viewing in the library.
This is a collection intended for leisure reading. It includes popular books, travel guides and fictions, both in Chinese and Western-language.
